Bio
Alexandra Hulsey’s artwork explores personal and cultural identity. Often shown by referencing the role nature plays within our social landscapes. Disclosed is the process of experiencing a sense of self. As an artist who uses photography, she analyzes the boundaries of what the medium can do both conceptually and technically. She archives emotion by showcasing the uncanny in the mundane and combines mediums to convey these circumstances in abstract and subtle ways, asking viewers to consider the essence of believability.
Alexandra is from Dallas, Texas. In 2012 she received a full-tuition scholarship to Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, Oregon, where she completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts as a photography major.
